The Pacific Northwest Truck Museum has electrified its exhibit space with an extraordinary new arrival! Thanks to the incredible generosity of Daimler Truck North America (aka Freightliner), the truck museum has welcomed the very first Generation Class 8 "Electric Test Truck" to its collection.

Crafted meticulously by hand with a mix of sophisticated European components, this electric gem represents the pioneering spirit of sustainable transportation. While it will be a static display, its story and innovation are anything but static. Get ready to be charged up by history!

Built by hand using a 2017 Cascadia sleeper cab platform and many European parts, it is powered by three separate electrical systems, very high voltage batteries for the drive train, a 24- and 12-volt system to power the air compressor and power steering systems. Although it weighs 22,200 lbs, it can pull a trailer and the technology that makes it work was proven.

Daimler is currently working on the design of a #3 Generation vehicle with even more battery power to give longer ranges between charges. Get ready to be charged up by history!
